19th Dhaka Auto Series kicks off, showcasing EVs and innovation

The 19th edition of the Dhaka Auto Series of Exhibitions 2026 kicked off at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Thursday, marking a significant milestone for the country’s automotive industry.

The exhibition highlights a strong focus on electric vehicles, sustainable mobility solutions, and advanced automotive technologies, alongside a wide range of motor parts and accessories from international brands. It also serves as a platform for business-to-business networking, dealership expansion, and direct consumer engagement.

Expo organized by CEMS-Global USA, the nation’s largest and longest-running automotive trade exhibition will continue until April 25, 2026, and remain open to registered visitors daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

The exhibition was inaugurated with Meherun N Islam, president and group managing director of CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific, presiding over the ceremony. 

Special guests present at the inauguration included M. A. Kamal Billah, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industries; Dr Anupam Saha, Joint Secretary, Director, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) and Gazi AKM Fazlul Haque, Director General, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and Jabed Ahmed, additional secretary (retd) of the Civil Aviation Ministry. Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, MP, who was scheduled to attend the inauguration as chief guest, could not attend due to important state engagements.

This year’s mega series features multiple concurrent exhibitions, including the 19th Dhaka Motor Show 2026, 10th Dhaka Bike Show 2026, 3rd Electric Vehicle (EV) Expo 2026, 9th Dhaka Auto Parts Show 2026, and 8th Dhaka Commercial Automotive Show 2026. Together, these segments offer a comprehensive showcase of passenger vehicles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, spare parts, accessories, and the rapidly growing electric vehicle segment.

‘With growing demand and ongoing infrastructure development, this year’s edition is expected to be bigger, bolder, and more impactful,’ said Meherun N. Islam. ‘The Dhaka Auto Series is not just an exhibition - it is the automotive marketplace of Bangladesh.’

The 2026 edition hosts more than 70 companies from over 10 countries, featuring around 200 booths displaying the latest automotive innovations. Participating countries include Japan, India, China, Malaysia, Germany, and the United Kingdom, among others. Leading global automotive brands such as Mitsubishi Motors, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, MG Motor, Proton, Changan Automobile, GAC Motor, and Dongfeng Motor Corporation are showcasing new models at the exhibition. In the two-wheeler segment, participants include Zeeho Bangladesh, CFMOTO Bangladesh, Longjia, and Vmoto. Commercial vehicle brands such as Foton Motor and Forland are also participating.
