A four-member delegation from Yunnan Minz University, China on Thursday visited the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP). The delegation attended a meeting to review the progress of the agreement signed with BKSP last year.

The meeting was led by Brigadier General Md. Saif Ullah, Director General of BKSP, and Wang Kun, deputy director of the international cooperation and exchange department of Yunnan Minzu University.

It can be mentionable that on December 12, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between BKSP and Yunnan Minzu University of China, which is considered an important milestone in the development of sports in Bangladesh.

During the discussions, Yunnan Minzu University offered BKSP four "Study in YMU" scholarships for the 2026 academic year. The talks also focused on establishing a China-Bangladesh Tai Chi Center and a Bangladesh-China Cricket Center.

The proposed initiatives include teacher and student exchange programmes, the formation of Tai Chi and cricket training teams, joint scientific research, co-authorship of high-quality social science papers, and the development of an international sports and sports medicine guideline framework.

They also discussed setting up Confucius classrooms and regularly organizing sports exchange activities for young athletes and students.

The review of the agreement's progress resulted in productive discussions between the two sides. After the meeting, the visiting delegation toured BKSP's indoor cricket center, Tai Chi center, and Chinese language lab.

They also expressed their satisfaction and hoped that the friendly relations between the two institutions would become even stronger in the coming days.    "BSS
