The search for missing Bangladeshi student Nahida Sultana Bristy has concluded after her brother Zahid Hasan Pranto confirmed her death on Saturday.

According to family statements, US law enforcement identified her remains through DNA testing conducted on evidence found during their investigation.

Bristy, a graduate student in Chemical Engineering at the University of South Florida and an alumna of Noakhali Science and Technology University, had been missing since April 16. Her disappearance was linked to the case of another Bangladeshi student, Jamil Limon, whose remains were recently recovered by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office near the Howard Frankland Bridge in Tampa.

Authorities have arrested a US citizen, Hisham Saleh Abugarbieh, who was Limon’s roommate.

Police reported that forensic samples matching Bristy were located within the suspect's residence.

While the investigation into the motives behind the two deaths continues, local police have not yet confirmed if further remains will be recovered.

US administration officials remain in contact with the victims' families as the legal process moves forward.
