JCD rolls out 29 new committees 

Protests erupt in several places shortly after Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) announced 29 new committees across the country to strengthen its activities.
 
Many leaders and activists expressed anger over being left out and raised allegations about how the posts were given. 

Protests started in several places, including Rangamati, Cox's Bazar and Barisal. Many leaders and activists who did not get positions showed their anger. In Narsingdi, two leaders even said they would leave the organization after being left out. 

In Barishal University, local members were upset because 10 people linked to Chhatra League were given posts.

The committees were officially approved on Saturday, May 2. The approval came through a notice signed by Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam and General Secretary Nasir Uddin.

Full committees have been formed in all four parts of Dhaka Metropolitan City North, South, East and West. 

Other full committees were announced for Mymensingh city, its North and South districts, Jamalpur city and districts like Netrokona, Narsingdi, Habiganj, Khagrachari and Manikganj. Comilla city received a partially complete committee.

At the university level, full committees were given to Bangladesh Textile University and Rangamati University of Science and Technology. Partial committees were announced for Barisal, Rabindra, Kishoreganj and Pundra universities. 

Jamalpur University of Science and Technology received an extended committee. Partial committees were also approved for Mymensingh, Sirajganj and Jamalpur Medical Colleges.

Among colleges, full committees were formed at Anandamohan College in Mymensingh. Partial committees were given to Joypurhat Government College, Haji Mishir Ali Degree College, and Narayanganj College. Dhaka College received a new extended committee.
