The country recorded nine more deaths from measles and its symptoms in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 352 since mid-March.

According to the latest report from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released on Saturday, three of the recent deaths were laboratory-confirmed measles cases, while the other six involved children showing clinical symptoms of the disease.

The data covers the period from 8:00 AM Friday to 8:00 AM Saturday.

Since monitoring began on March 15, 61 children have died from confirmed measles, and 291 have succumbed to suspected symptoms.

Regarding infections, 6,989 children have been laboratory-confirmed with the viral disease, while 47,656 individuals have sought medical care for symptomatic illness.

Dhaka Division remains the most severely affected region, accounting for 173 deaths and 26,080 cases.

Health authorities are continuing their efforts to manage the surge, which has put significant pressure on the country's pediatric healthcare system over the past six weeks.
