In a unique initiative aimed at raising public awareness on dengue prevention, the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) administrator inaugurated a dengue prevention campaign through a cultural programme featuring music and melodies to engage citizens.

At the same time, for the first time, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched its own pre-monsoon Aedes larvae survey to identify mosquito breeding hotspots across the capital ahead of the rainy season.

During the DNCC programme, speakers urged citizens to actively participate in dengue prevention efforts, emphasizing that municipal actions alone are not enough to control the spread of the disease. They stressed the importance of public awareness and collective responsibility.

Meanwhile, DSCC officials said the survey is being conducted to detect the presence of Aedes larvae and identify high-risk areas in different parts of the city. Based on the findings, targeted mosquito control measures will be strengthened promptly.
