Dhaka strongly condemns Israeli strike in Lebanon that killed 2 nationals

Bangladesh has strongly condemned an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon that killed two Bangladeshi nationals on Monday.

The victims were identified as Shafiqul Islam of Satkhira Sadar and Md. Nahidul Islam Nahid of Ashashuni in Satkhira district.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep grief over the incident and conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased.

The ministry said the Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon is coordinating with local authorities to complete the necessary procedures for repatriating the bodies. 

Embassy officials are also maintaining contact with the victims’ families.

Bangladesh also voiced concern over the continuing violence and civilian casualties in the region, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and comply with international humanitarian law.
