Fisheries and Livestock Journalists Forum (FLJF) has formed its new committee for 2026-28, electing Tariqul Islam Sumon as president and Zahidur Rahman as general secretary (GS).
At a biennial general meeting-cum-election, FLIF, an organisation representing journalists covering the fisheries and livestock sectors, elected an 11-member executive committee for the next two-year term.
According to official sources, the meeting and voting was held at a city hotel in the capital on Saturday, electing Sumon(Special Correspondent-Dainik Amar Bangla) President and Zahidur (Senior Reporter-Samakal) GS.
Current FLJF President Jalil Munna Raihan presided over the meeting while GS Zahidur Rahman and Treasurer Shahjahan Molla presented their biennial reports at the meeting.
Mohosinul Karim Lebu, a member of the election management committee, announced the new committee on behalf of the election committee at the meeting.
Chief of the Election Committee Md. Mamun Hasan, Senior Information Officer at the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and committee member Abu Ali were also present.
Other members of the newly elected committee: Vice-President Mohammad Naimuddin (Risingbd), Joint GS Bayezid Munshi (Alokito Swadesh), Treasurer Shahjahan Molla (Amader Shomoy), Organizing Secretary Shawkat Ali (Desh Rupantor), and Office Secretary Md. Belal Hossain (Amar Desh).
