Measles outbreak kills 10 children in 24hrs

At least 10 more children have died from measles and related symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the latest government data. 

This brings the total death toll to 555 since the current outbreak began on March 15.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released its daily report on Tuesday (May 26), revealing a sharp rise in infections. 

In addition to the fatalities, 1,136 new cases showing symptoms of measles were recorded nationwide within the same 24-hour window.

Health officials are monitoring the situation as the number of both infections and deaths continues to climb. 

The DGHS report emphasizes the growing scale of the outbreak, urging increased vigilance and medical attention for children exhibiting symptoms of the disease.
