Prime Minister’s Adviser and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday visited the family of slain child Ramisa Akter at their residence at Pallabi on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and conveyed the Prime Minister’s condolences.

Ramisa, a second-grade student, was allegedly raped and murdered on May 19, triggering widespread outrage across the country.

During the visit, Rizvi assured the family that the government would ensure the highest punishment for those involved in the killing.

“I have come on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to inquire about Ramisa’s family. The Prime Minister has also taken responsibility for the education of Ramisa’s elder sister, Raisa. We will all stand beside Raisa’s family as their relatives,” he said.

BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, member Mahbubul Islam, Central Chhatra Dal Vice-President Dr Touhidur Rahman Awal and North South University Director Dr Iqbalur Rahman Rokon, among others, were present during the visit.
