3 workers burnt in explosion at Demra steel mill

Three workers suffered burn injuries in a boiler explosion while melting iron at a steel mill in Basherpur area of Demra on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at about 7:30AM at ZSRM Steel Mill.

Injured Sabbir Hossain, 24, Tofazzal Hossain, 48, and Majed Hossain, 52, are currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon (emergency) at the hospital, said Sabbir sustained burns on 35 per cent of his body, Tofazzal on 23 per cent and Majed on one per cent.
