309 deaths in May alone, toll reaches 594

 
Bangladesh recorded 309 deaths from measles and related symptoms in May alone while six more children died in 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday, pushing the overall death toll to 594 since mid-March, according to official data.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified the latest casualties as suspected. During the same period, 1,292 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.
