
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived in Dhaka shortly after midnight on Thursday on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman.
During his visit, Fidan is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and other senior policymakers, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions are expected to focus on bilateral relations, trade, security cooperation and regional developments.
Foreign Ministry officials said Fidan is also expected to visit the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar.
Dr Khalilur Rahman and his Turkish counterpart are set to hold talks on Friday to explore opportunities for expanding strategic engagement between the two countries, alongside efforts to strengthen trade and investment ties.
Foreign Ministry sources said a wide range of bilateral and strategic issues will be discussed during the visit.
Fidan is regarded as a close confidant of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and previously served as head of Türkiye's national intelligence agency for a decade before becoming foreign minister.
