President reaches Sylhet

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has reached Sylhet for a one-day visit.

The president landed at Osmani International Airport at around 11:27AM on Tuesday, where members of parliament from different constituencies in Sylhet, senior district administration officials and leaders of various political parties welcomed him.

During his one-day visit, President Mirza Fakhrul is scheduled to pay homage at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA), two of the region’s most revered Islamic sites.

He will also attend a civic reception organised by Sylhet City Corporation.

Security has been tightened across Sylhet ahead of the presidential visit. Additional law enforcement personnel have been deployed at programme venues, along the president’s travel routes and at key points across the city.
