Five unidentified people, including a woman, died in separate incidents in different parts of the capital on Monday, with their bodies later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsies. None of the deceased could be identified.

In the morning, the body of an unidentified man, aged around 45, was recovered from the roadside near Araf Car Wash at the Shanir Akhra U-turn in Jatrabari.

Md Asaduzzaman Jewel, sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station, said the man used to wander around the area and appeared to be a vagrant. Police suspect he died after collapsing there due to illness. On receiving information, police recovered the body and took it to the DMCH emergency department around 11:15am.

Another unidentified man, aged around 30, was found dead on the footpath near the intersection of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery under Shahbag Police Station.

SI Bijoy Mondal of Shahbag Police Station recovered the body and sent it to the DMCH morgue in the afternoon. Police believe the man was also a vagrant.

Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified elderly man, aged around 65, was recovered from the Jaulahati area under Kamrangirchar Police Station in the morning.

SI Praneshwar Das said police recovered the body after receiving information from local people. The man used to wander around the area. Although locals recognised him, they did not know his identity. He was also described as a vagrant.

On the same day, an unidentified man, aged around 50, was found unconscious on the road opposite Notre Dame College in Motijheel.

Nasir, a representative of a pharmaceutical company, rescued him in the morning and took him to DMCH. The man died around 11am while undergoing treatment. His identity could not be confirmed.
