Hadi murder: Inqilab Moncho to hold protest rally at DU after Jummah prayers

Inqilab Moncho will bring out a protest rally at Dhaka University (DU) after Jummah prayers today, demanding a comprehensive investigation into alleged Indian involvement in the killing of its Spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi.

The rally will begin from the DU Central Mosque, the organisation said in a Facebook post on Friday morning, says The UNB.

It also called for the identification of local perpetrators, an update on government efforts to bring back the fugitive suspects from India, and a speedy trial in the case.

Alongside Dhaka, the platform will also hold protest rallies in Rangpur and Sylhet, to be organised by its Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology units.

Hadi was shot by assailants at Box Culvert Road under Paltan Model Police Station in Dhaka on December 12 last year, a day after the schedule for the 13th parliamentary election was announced.

He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, later shifted to Evercare Hospital, and eventually flown to Singapore.

Hadi died on the night of December 18 while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.

Following the gun attack, Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber filed an attempted murder case at Paltan Police Station on December 14, which was later converted into a murder case following his death.
