It's time we thought about pressure on students

Dear sir,

No one is talking enough about the pressure students suffer from. In Bangladesh, our education system is largely based on memorization. This is harmful to students' minds and to the quality of education itself.

We should take measures to change this system. It is often said that studying should be enjoyable. However, in our education system, there is little room for enjoyment. Everything is filled with pressure. In kindergarten, students have to study in two extra classes compared to government primary schools. The pressure begins from there. Then comes the pressure of securing first place in class.

But in school, our main priority should be learning. Children should learn with joy. Unfortunately, these so-called competitions have turned education into a source of fear for many children. The government should take effective measures to reform this system.
