Couple electrocuted in Bogura

BOGURA, June 6: A husband and a wife were electrocuted in Belgharia Village of Kahaloo Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 60, and his wife Ramisha Khatun, 55, of the village.

Police and locals said that an electric wire next to the kitchen of the house had been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. That afternoon, Anwar Hossain was electrocuted when he touched a bicycle kept next to the kitchen. At that time, his wife Ramisha Khatun was also electrocuted when she went to rescue him. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kahaloo Police Station Shafiqul Islam said, since there was no complaint from the family, the bodies were handed over to the relatives.
