Bangladesh has secured another place on the global youth leadership stage as Md Toufiq Elahi and Tisha Khandokar have been selected as in-person delegates for the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2026.

The summit will be held on June 11"12 at the World Bank Group Headquarters in Washington, D.C., bringing together young leaders from around the world to discuss development challenges and innovative solutions.

This year's theme, "FutureWorks: Designing Jobs for the Digital Age", will focus on employment, education, skills development and entrepreneurship in an increasingly digital economy.

The World Bank Group Youth Summit is the institution's largest annual event dedicated to people aged 18 to 35. Due to limited capacity, participants were selected through a competitive merit-based process involving applicants from across the globe.

The selection of Toufiq Elahi and Tisha Khandokar highlights the growing contribution of Bangladeshi youth to international development, innovation and leadership initiatives.

The summit aims to empower young people to develop solutions to global challenges, strengthen their leadership skills and promote dialogue between youth and key development stakeholders.

Participants will also gain access to a global network of more than 10,000 alumni from over 170 countries, creating opportunities for future collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The inclusion of the two Bangladeshi delegates reflects the increasing presence of the country's young generation on international platforms and their potential to contribute to a more innovative and inclusive future.
