212 double-cabin pickups to be purchased for police

A decision to purchase of 212 double-cabin pickup vehicles to strengthen the operational activities of the Bangladesh Police has been finalised.

The total cost of the procurement is estimated at Tk 182.32 crore.

The approval was granted at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

According to sources at the meeting, the government has decided to procure the 212 double-cabin pickups for operational use by the Bangladesh Police during the 2025-26 fiscal year. The vehicles will be purchased through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM). 

The proposal was submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

As per the approved proposal, the vehicles will be supplied by Progati Industries Limited. The committee authorized the signing of a procurement contract with the company worth Tk 182.32 crore.
