Train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh-Jamalpur route suddenly suspended following derailment of a power car of the Dhaka-bound 'Brahmaputra Express' at Ananda Mohan College rail crossing area in Mymensingh on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place approximately 9:12AM.

According to Mymensingh Railway Police chief Md Aktar Hossain, the Brahmaputra Express, which had departed from Jamalpur, experienced a loud bang before the wheels of its power car derailed as it reached Tinkona Pukurpar.

The front portion of the train was subsequently brought to the station, leaving the power car at the site.

A rescue train has reached the scene and is working to recover the power car.
