The Finance Minister of Bangladesh, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, said that the proposed FY27 national budget includes provisions for all sections of society despite the country’s resource constraints.

He was addressing a post-budget press conference held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday, June 12, 2026.
The Finance Minister said, “Everyone has been considered while preparing this budget proposal. No one has been left outside the scope of this budget.”

The minister said Bangladesh Nationalist Party government’s guiding principle was “democratisation of economy.”

In the past, economy of Bangladesh had largely served “certain individuals or organised groups,” he added.

Khosru unveiled a Tk 9.38 lakh crore budget in parliament for FY2026-27 on Thursday, outlining plans to stabilise the economy, support recovery and place the country on a higher growth trajectory.
