One shot dead in Rampura

A man was shot dead at Rampura TV Centre area in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.

The deceased is Yasin Khan Palash (50) alias ‘Kailla Palash,’ a listed criminal in Hatirjheel-Rampura area, said the police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatirjheel police station Asaduzzaman confirmed the incident.

He said Palash was standing opposite to Rampura TV Centre to return home after offering Juma prayers. Two unidentified men on a motorcycle came to the spot, shot him, and fled the scene.

Tejgaon Division Deputy Police Commissioner Ibn Mizan said Palash was a listed criminal in Hatirjheel-Rampura area. He was released on bail about a month ago after serving around 20 years in prison. He was not arrested as no new cases were filed against him.

The deputy said at least 10 cases, including the murder, had been filed against Palash adding that the police were investigating into the matter.
