Dhaka WASA begins tree plantation

Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Dhaka WASA) has launched a tree plantation programme at Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant compound near Aftabnagar, Dhaka, as part of the government’s nationwide initiative to plant 250 million trees over five years. Dhaka WASA Managing Director Md. Aminul Islam inaugurated the programme on Saturday on behalf of the organization.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhaka WASA officials highlighted the importance of increasing green coverage and protecting the environment alongside urban development. The initiative aims to contribute to environmental sustainability and create a greener, healthier urban landscape.
