Standard Islami Bank appoints Riad Mahmud as MD

Riad Mahmud Chowdhury has joined Standard Islamic Bank PLC as the Managing Director (MD).
Prior to this Chowdhury served as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking at Eastern Bank, says a press release. 

Chowdhury began his banking career in 2000 as a Senior Officer at IFIC Bank. Subsequently he worked at AB Bank before joining Eastern Bank in 2004. In his more than 26 years of illustrious career in banking, he has demonstrated remarkable success in managing large corporate portfolios and non-performing loan as well as developing specialized Islamic banking frameworks and implementing digital cross-border trade solutions. 

He obtained his B.Com and M.Com in Finance from the University of Dhaka and later completed his MBA in Finance from IBA of the same University.
