Ad-din foreign students face academic uncertainty

Foreign students enrolled at Ad-din Medical College Hospital are facing uncertainty as academic activities at the institution have remained suspended for the past 10 days.

On Monday, the students went to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) seeking a meeting with the Director General in an effort to find a solution to their academic future.

However, as the DGHS chief was not present at the office, the students later went to the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) in Mohakhali to seek an appointment with its head. The students arrived at the DGHS headquarters at around 10:30 am. After waiting for nearly an hour without receiving any response from officials, they left at 11:50 am and proceeded to DGME.

Following a government order halting operations at Ad-din Medical College Hospital, the students fear their medical degrees may lose recognition. The DGME has already instructed that all students of the institution be attached to other hospitals.
