Four die inhaling toxic gas inside Ctg septic tanks

Four people died after inhaling toxic gas inside separate septic tanks in Chattogram on Friday.

The incidents took place in Chattogram City and Raozan Upazila of the district.

The deceased were identified as Sakib, Ridoy Mia, Pradip Das and Samiran Das. Of them, Sakib and Ridoy hailed from Noakhali’s Sadar and Companiganj upazilas, respectively.

Officer-in-Charge of Double Mooring Police Station (PS) Shahinur Alam said two workers died after entering a septic tank at an under-construction building in Dhanialapara area under Kadamtali PS in the city.
Being informed, police recovered their bodies and sent those to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsies, the OC added.

In another incident, two more workers died inhaling toxic gas while cleaning a septic tank in Noapara area of Raozan Upazila.

Police later recovered their bodies and sent those to the CMCH morgue.
