Five more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,107 new infections were reported.
The information was disclosed in the Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) regular measles situation report released on Friday.
According to the DGHS, a total of 636 children died from measles or symptoms since March 15 this year. The number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths stands at 93, bringing the overall measles-related death toll to 729.
The report said 139 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were detected during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 12,425 since March 15.
Meanwhile, another 968 developed measles symptoms over the past 24 hours. Since March 15, the number of suspected measles cases has reached 103,961.
Since March 15, a total of 87,262 people with measles symptoms have been admitted to different hospitals across the country. Of them, 83,543 have recovered and been discharged.
