PM working tirelessly to fulfil election pledges: Rizvi

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working tirelessly to implement the commitments made during the election campaign, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Friday.

He made the remarks while addressing a discussion as the chief guest at Dhakeshwari National Temple on Friday afternoon, marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman.

Rizvi said the government had also passed a people-friendly national budget aimed at easing public suffering.

He alleged that many members of the Hindu community, along with people targeted for their political identity, had faced persecution during the rule of Sheikh Hasina. He further claimed that various conspiracies had sought to create artificial religious divisions, but said the Bengali nation could not be divided in reality.

Despite those conspiracies, members of the Hindu community had voted in favour of nationalist forces, Rizvi said.
He called on people of all professions, communities and religious backgrounds to remain united in safeguarding the country's independence and sovereignty.
