The Dhaka Education Board has directed heads of all educational institutions under its jurisdiction to promptly forward applications for the correction of names and dates of birth.
In a recent letter sent to heads of educational institutions, the board said all institutions under its jurisdiction must follow the directive. It instructed institutions to forward applications for the correction of names and dates of birth to the board as quickly as possible after ensuring they have been properly completed by the student or applicant.
The letter said that in many cases, institution heads fail to forward applications on time even after they have been properly completed, causing students and applicants to face confusion and harassment. It said such a situation is not desirable under any circumstances.
The notice also said the application form must include the mobile phone number of the applicant or their guardian. The use of the institution's mobile number or that of any other person will not be accepted.
The board also specially requested all heads of educational institutions concerned to remain aware and cautious in this regard.
