Arms, liquor found in lawyer’s chamber in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, July 8: Police recovered arms, ammunition and foreign liquor during a raid at the chamber of Advocate Mohammad Kamrul Islam Monir, located in Monowara Ali Super Market at Pach Rastar Mor in the town, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to primary information, he is the general secretary of Dangdhara Union Awami League in Dewanganj Upazila.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Rakibul Islam said the raid was conducted based on a tip-off. Police recovered two pipe guns, six cocktail-like explosive devices, four pistol and four shotgun bullets, two bottles of petrol and six bottles of foreign liquor from the office.

Police said no one was arrested during the operation. The matter is under investigation, and more details will be announced officially later.
