Couple found dead in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, July 17: Police have recovered the bodies of Kabir Hawlader and his wife Halima Begum from Abdul Majid Hawlader's house in Rajoir Village of Sarankhola Upazila of the district on Thursday morning. 

The deceased couple have two children, aged 7 years and 2 months. The 2-month-old baby was at home at the time of the incident. Relatives and neighbours found the child crying next to the bodies of the parents. 

According to relatives and neighbours, there had been a long-standing dispute between the husband and wife due to a family feud. They believe that Kabir Hawlader committed suicide after killing his wife Halima Begum due to the dispute. 

However, the police recovered a handwritten note from the scene that reads, “No one is responsible for this death.” 

Officer-in-Charge of Sarankhola Police Station Rokeya Khanam confirmed the deaths.
