Prevent stone-throwing at moving trains

Railways provide safe and convenient transportation across the country, yet this valuable service is sometimes threatened by reckless acts of vandalism. Some unruly youths have reportedly been throwing stones at moving trains from areas alongside railway tracks.

According to media reports, a few days ago a young passenger lost the sight in one eye after being struck by a stone thrown at a moving train. More recently, another similar incident reportedly left a young man with a fractured bone beneath his eye, while doctors indicated that the chances of restoring his vision were extremely low. If such incidents continue, passenger safety will be seriously jeopardised.

Train journeys are enjoyable because passengers like to admire the passing scenery. Stone-throwing, however, creates fear and insecurity.

Therefore, I respectfully urge the authorities to take immediate and effective measures to prevent such heinous acts, strengthen railway security, and ensure the safety of all passengers.
