Youth's dead body recovered in Netrokona

A dead body of a youth named Mahful Mia, 35 was recovered from his residence in Duani Dudhkura village under Netrokona Sadar upazila.

Speculations suggest that the incident took place sometime between 12:00 midnight to 5:00AM on Saturday. On the following morning, police recovered the slit-throat body and sent it to the Netrokona District Sadar Hospital morgue. 

Deceased Mahful Mia was son of late Yakub Ali of the village under Kaliyara Gabragati union in Netrokona Sadar upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Netrokona Model Police Station Abul Khair confirmed the matter.

Sources said, Mahful Mia went to sleep in his room after dinner on Saturday night. Early Sunday morning, his mother woke up and found the door to her son's room open. Entering the room with a torch, she found Mahful lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit. As she raised an alarm, neighbors rushed to the scene.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to the Netrokona District Sadar Hospital morgue.

Netrokona Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Khair said that, as per initial assumptions, Mahful had an ongoing land dispute with some locals in the village. The murder might have occurred as a consequence of this enmity. The incident is being investigated with priority. 

Action will be taken upon receiving a formal complaint, he added.
