Derai Municipality declares Tk 15cr budget with no new tax

DERAI, SUNAMGANJ, July 28: Derai Municipal Administrator Md Ziaul Hasan Sourav declared the proposed budget of Tk 15,04,90,000 for the 2026-2027 fiscal year (FY) without any new taxes at the municipality office on Tuesday.

According to the proposed budget, revenue income has been estimated at Tk 3,66,40,000 and revenue expenditure at Tk 2,58,60,000. There will be a surplus of Tk 1,07,80,000 in the revenue sector.

On the other hand, Tk 12,46,30,000 has been allocated for the development sector. Out of this, Tk 12.39 crore has been mentioned for the development sector expenditure. As a result, there will be a surplus of Tk 12.9 crore in the development sector. In total, the municipality’s overall budget surplus has been estimated at Tk 7.30 lakh. The budget proposes a maximum allocation of Tk 11.18 crore in the infrastructure construction sector. In addition, a comprehensive plan of Tk 15,04,90,000 has also been mentioned for the development of the sanitation system of the municipality.

Municipal Administrator Md Ziaul Hasan Sourav said that the proposed budget has given priority to improving the quality of citizen services, infrastructure development and cleanliness and sanitation system.
