UCB appoints Sufia Akter as DMD

She will lead the UCB as DMD, Wholesale Banking Division. 

Prior to joining UCB, she played a pivotal role in Bank Asia PLC establishing the Transaction Banking Department, Corporate and Investment Banking Division, a significant role in achieving remarkable business growth within a short period, says a press release.  

With over 26 years of experience, she has worked at leading global and local financial institutions including HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, The City Bank PLC, Meghna Bank PLC and Bank Asia PLC.

She has successfully led business transformation initiatives, built high-performing teams and achieved sustainable business growth. She brings extensive expertise and experience in Corporate Banking, Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Trade Finance, Treasury Solutions, and Working Capital Financing.

She is a proud graduate of the globally recognized Future CEO Programme and the Future CEO Leadership Recharge Programme (WSDA New Zealand). The training from these institutions has further strengthened her strategic leadership, global perspective, and executive decision-making capabilities.
