Saudi Crown Prince invites PM to visit KSA 

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has invited Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia. 

Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah Zafar H. Bin Abiyah conveyed the invitation during a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Secretariat on Monday. 

The development was confirmed by Shahadat Swadhin, Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.

"The Saudi Ambassador met the Prime Minister and conveyed the invitation from the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister," he said.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, including areas of bilateral cooperation.

The invitation comes as Bangladesh seeks to further strengthen its relations with Saudi Arabia, particularly in areas of trade, investment, manpower employment and religious affairs.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has already undertaken state visits to Malaysia and China since assuming office. The Saudi visit, if scheduled, would mark another significant engagement with a key Middle Eastern partner of Bangladesh.

Further details regarding the timing and agenda of the proposed visit have yet to be announced.
