Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir paid homage at the graves of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder, late President Ziaur Rahman, and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

He paid his respects after Jummah prayers on Friday, confirmed Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell.

He said the President-elect offered fateha and joined prayers at the graves of martyr President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia prior to taking his oath of office at Bangabhaban.
