The four new ministers and two state ministers who were inducted in the cabinet on Friday, received their respective portfolios late last night.
Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan was conferred with the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry, while Andaleeve Rahman Partho was appointed as the new Information and Broadcasting Minister.
Rashiduzzaman Millat has been put in charge of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, while Saching Prue is now the CHT Affairs Minister.
Afroza Khanam, previously Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, was appointed as Food Minister.
Besides, Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir was appointed as State Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Gaibandha-4 lawmaker Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln was appointed State Minister for Religious Affairs.
Earlier on Friday evening, President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir administered the oath to them at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban at 7:45pm.
With this, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expands his cabinet six months after forming the government, bringing five new members into the Council of Ministers.
With the induction of five new faces, the number of cabinet members now stands at 52, which include 27 ministers and 24 state ministers.�"UNB
