Ctg imposes restrictions on Jashne Julus rally route, flyover

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has imposed special security and traffic restrictions for Wednesday’s Jashne Julus procession marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi, including a ban on carrying weapons and the temporary closure of a major flyover.

The restrictions were announced in a public notice signed by CMP Commissioner Hasan Md Shawkat Ali on Tuesday.

According to the notice, carrying, displaying or using any type of weapon during the procession and religious gathering will be strictly prohibited. The display of effigies, statues or similar objects has also been banned.

CMP has designated the route for the main procession organised by Anjuman-e Rahmania Ahmadiya Sunnia Trust.

The procession will begin at 8:00 AM from Almgir Khanqah-e Qaderia Syedia Tayyebia in Sholoshahar. It will pass through Bibirhat, Muradpur, Sholoshahar No. 2 Gate, GEC Circle, WASA, Dampara, Lalkhan Bazar and Tigerpass before returning along the same route to the Julus ground beside Jamea Ahmadiya Sunnia Kamil Madrasa, where a religious gathering will be held.

CMP said vehicular movement on the flyover between Lalkhan Bazar and Muradpur will remain suspended while the procession is underway.

The restrictions will remain in force from the start of the procession until the end of the religious gathering. Police warned that legal action would be taken against anyone violating the directives.
