The authorities have announced the closure of a garment factory named Matrix Dresses Limited.

The decision to close the factory, located in the Mirpur area of the capital, came into effect on Friday (August 28).

The company’s Managing Director, Mahbubul Hasan Faisal, confirmed the matter through a letter addressed to the employees of the organization.

In the letter, he wrote that he had been forced to shut down the company not only because of the business downturn, but also because of the self-serving efforts of certain individuals. Despite trying in various ways, he said he was unable to keep the company running. He expressed his gratitude to the employees and apologized to them.

A letter issued by Mahbubul Hasan “Dear colleagues, It is with great sadness that we are going to issue a notice regarding the closure of the company. I tried in many ways to keep the company running, but I was not successful.

I am being forced to close the company not only because of the business downturn, but also due to the self-serving efforts of certain individuals. Over the past two years, production at the factory has remained suspended for various reasons.

Even so, I would like to say that our organization had many skilled, dedicated, and committed employees who worked shoulder to shoulder with us and stood by us during our difficult times. We are grateful to them and wish them all the best. I hope they find new employment opportunities and remain well.

I ask all of them to pray for me so that I can properly settle the factory’s affairs, pay all outstanding dues to the creditors, and return to a normal life. I also hope that I can establish myself again through another business and somehow create employment opportunities once more for some of our former workers and employees.”
