2,894 MW of power cuts expected in the afternoon

As the country continues to face a power shortage, load shedding could reach a maximum of 2,894 megawatts on Saturday (August 29). The highest level of load shedding is expected to occur at 5:PM

This picture emerged from an analysis of data from Power Grid Bangladesh PLC (PGCB) for Saturday (August 29).

According to the data, power outage is expected to be 1,003 megawatts at 10:00 AM and 1,203 megawatts at noon.

However, the power shortage is expected to rise rapidly in the afternoon. Load shedding could increase from 1,471 megawatts at 2:00 PM to 2,483 megawatts at 3:00 PM and 2,593 megawatts at 4:00 PM The highest forecast is 2,894 megawatts at 5:00 PM

Although load shedding may ease somewhat in the evening, it could rise again at night. The forecast shows 2,216 megawatts of load shedding at 6:00 PM, 1,528 megawatts at 6:30 PM, and 2,770 megawatts at 7 PM Load shedding is expected to reach 2,550 megawatts at 8:00 PM and 2,703 megawatts at 9:00 PM

The analysis also shows that the country’s electricity demand could peak at 18,730 megawatts at 9: PM At that time, power generation is projected at 15,900 megawatts. At 10 PM, demand is expected to be 17,970 megawatts, while generation could reach 15,700 megawatts, resulting in 2,168 megawatts of load shedding.

The country has also experienced significant power shortages over the past several days.
