JAMALPUR, Aug 29: Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife on Saturday morning and that of a student on Friday night in the district.
Police recovered the body of Sharmin Akter, 25, wife of Jahurul Islam, a Palli Bidyut employee from Sripur Kumaria Village in Sadar Upazila, from a rented flat in the Nandina Purbapara area of the upazila on Saturday morning.
According to local sources, Sharmin and her husband lived with their two children on the third floor of Abdul Barek’s rented house in Nandina. Sharmin returned from her father’s house on Friday night and her hanging body was found the following morning.
On the other hand, police recovered the half-decomposed body of Israt Jahan Rima, 25, daughter of Rashidullah Mondal of Panditpara in Balijuri of Madarganj Upazila and a fourth-year honours student of Govt Ashek Mahmud College, from a rented house in the Swapnopuri residential area of South Kacharipara in the town on Friday night.
House owner Jahangir Alam said a young man named Shuvo often visited Rima, introducing himself as her husband.
Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Najmus Sakib said the bodies had been sent to the morgue for autopsies.
