Some officials and employees were found absent from their posts despite having marked their attendance during a surprise inspection of three Assistant Commissioner (Land) offices in Narayanganj on Monday morning.

The State Minister of Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, visited the offices in the Khanpur area around 8:30 AM and found many officials and employees absent at two of the offices.

“It is completely unacceptable that many officials and employees marked their attendance even though they were not present,” he said.

The state minister stressed that serving the people is the duty of government officials and urged them to be punctual, sincere and responsible.

He also discussed security arrangements, particularly for female officials performing administrative and judicial duties.

He said necessary action would be taken over any irregularities.
