Pistol and ammunition seized from Lalmonirhat border

Lalmonirhat Battalion 15 BGB has recovered a pistol and one round of ammunition by conducting a special operation in the Aditmari border area of Lalmonirhat.

The operation was conducted at approximately 9:20 PM Sunday (August 30) in the Digir Char border area under the jurisdiction of Dighaltaribari BOP.

According to sources from 15 BGB, based on secret information regarding the possibility of arms being smuggled illegally through the border, a special patrol team led by Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam, PSC, Commanding Officer of Lalmonirhat Battalion (15 BGB), conducted an operation in the area.

The BGB said that the process of identifying those involved in the smuggling of the recovered weapons and taking legal action against them is underway. The process of depositing the recovered weapons and ammunition at Aditmari Police Station is also ongoing.

Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam, PSC, Commanding Officer of Lalmonirhat Battalion (15 BGB), said, “The BGB is firmly committed to ensuring the country’s sovereignty and border security.

Intelligence surveillance and patrol activities have been further strengthened to prevent the smuggling of any kind of illegal weapons through the border. Special operations and activities in sensitive areas along the border will continue.”
