‘Criminal’ ‘Pichchi’ Jahid hacked to death in Ctg

Jahidul Islam, alias “Pichchi” Jahid, a criminal listed by Chattogram city and district police, has been killed in an attack in Satkania.

He was hacked in the head and other parts of his body by unidentified assailants while travelling by motorcycle near Monowarabadh of Puranagar Union on Sunday night, police said.

Jahid, a resident of Puranagar, was accused in around a dozen cases filed with different police stations in the city and district.

Police said Jahid had been involved in criminal activities in Firozshah of Chattogram city.

He was arrested by law-enforcing agencies earlier this year and was recently released on bail, according to local sources.

Chattogram Additional Superintendent of Police (Satkania Circle) Md Ariful Islam Siddiqui told bdnews24.com that the attackers hacked Jahid while he was travelling by motorcycle at night.

He was taken to a local hospital in “critical condition”, where doctors declared him dead, the police officer said.�"bdnews
