Two die as unknown vehicle hits truck on Dhaka-Bogura highway

Two people died and another person got injured in a fatal road accident when an unknown vehicle collided with a ripped truck which was being fixed by roadside near the Dhaka-Bogura Highway of Sherpur upazila of Bogura.

The road crash happened at about 11 PM on Tuesday (September 1) near Kinam Hotel in the Mahipur area of Sherpur.

The victims were Mamun Hossain, 35, from Sherpur Sadar upazila and Hamza, 30, from Nandigram upazila. There is no immediate information about the injured person.

According to the fire department report, a number of people were fixing the truck when an unknown vehicle rammed it from the opposite side. As a result, the truck rolled over crashing into the divider with three people under it.

A fireman saved one person alive and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura where he was admitted to the ICU as his condition deteriorated.

Finally, highway police and a recovery truck pulled out the truck and rescued the other two persons who were found dead at the hospital.

Police are investigating the case to find out the culprit.
