Police recovered the hanging body of Bangladesh Bank Joint Director Md Sayedur Rahman from his residence in the Halishahar area of Chattogram on Wednesday night.
Police recovered the body from his home in the Ramna Residential Area of Agrabad around 9PM, Halishahar Police Station OC Zainal Abedin Mondol confirmed.
“The police went to the residence and recovered the body. We are investigating the incident in detail to determine how he died,” the officer added.
Rahman, 50, was the father of three daughters. Two of them live in Dhaka, while another works as a doctor at a private hospital in Chattogram.
Neither Rahman’s wife nor any of his daughters was at home at the time of the incident, police said.
Investigators learned that Rahman had called his wife and asked her to return home quickly.
He had spent time with his colleagues on Wednesday evening, it was learnt.
The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
