The Alarming Rise in Missing Children

The rising number of missing children across Bangladesh has become a matter of deep concern. Over the past few months, reports of missing children have increasingly appeared on social media. After several media outlets covered the issue, panic spread nationwide.

According to a Police Headquarters notification issued on September 3, a total of 15,717 children went missing across the country between January and July this year. Of them, 13,679 have been rescued, while 2,038 are still missing.

To parents, their children are priceless treasures. Therefore, the continued rise in missing children is an ominous sign for the nation. The fate of those still missing raises heartbreaking questions: Where are they? How are they? How are they living?

I urge the authorities to promptly rescue the missing children through thorough investigations, reunite them with their families, and strengthen surveillance to prevent such incidents in the future.
