Three arrested over woman’s shooting in capital

Police have arrested three people, including the husband of a woman who was shot through the window of her home in Darus Salam in the capital on Saturday night.

The woman, identified as Jesmin Akter, was watching television at her tin-shed home when she was hit by a bullet fired through the window. She is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, a businessman was shot inside his shop in the capital’s Shyampur area on Saturday night.

The victim, identified as Aslam, was talking to a customer at his crockery shop on Zia Sarani Road around 8pm when an unidentified man allegedly entered the shop and shot him.

Relatives said Aslam was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an injured condition.
